Why scan a dairy shed
Mechanisation upgrades need real dimensions: feed-lane widths, stall spacing, headroom under trusses and drainage falls. Drawings were decades old and no longer matched what was built.
Capture and delivery
- Walking scans with animals in place — no shed clearing required.
- Drainage falls extracted from the cloud surface.
- Equipment clearances checked before ordering machinery.
Outcome
- Accurate as-built base for the mechanisation tender.
- Two clashes with proposed feed conveyors caught before purchase.
